Project: Water Report |
![]() Michelle led the transition of City of Calgary Water Resources’ annual Water Quality Report from a public report focused solely on drinking water quality to a customer confidence report integrating all aspects of Water’s success. The goals of the publication were to celebrate Calgary’s progress toward its water related sustainability goals, to educate citizens about the operations behind water service, and to demonstrate the value of water services. In short, Michelle’s challenge was to make water sexy! She created an engaging and accessible document that was widely distributed as a utility bill insert and to community partners, including all science teachers in Calgary. It was also presented to the City Executive Administration and Councillors, and promoted in traditional media, social media, and at special events. The Water Report is now recognized and used by senior management as an opportunity to foster employee pride and engagement, for example business sections often host celebrations when their stories are highlighted that year. The report is also consistently one of top-three water-related downloads on calgary.ca. (Image courtesy City of Calgary)
