In many ways, you could call it social marketing plus.
How we approach problem definition, research, programming and measures of success are all too often limited by drawing only from one or two approaches. Ideally, we must draw from a broad spectrum of strategies and practices when designing and building programs. In this way, engagement is both solution-oriented and emotionally intelligent, and avoids the pitfalls of asking audiences to behave in one way, while discounting the social contexts and systems that may prevent them from making lasting change. |
